Getting married in Tuscany
Midweek weddings, elopements, micro weddings, dream boat weddings, civil ceremonies…
The year 2020 was a very challenging period for weddings, in Italy and everywhere else in the world, but the difficulties didn’t quench people’s desire to get married. In 2021, wedding trends included midweek outdoor wedding ceremonies, celebrations held on dream sailboats, elopements, micro weddings, and civil partnerships (LGBTQ). The pandemic has dramatically changed our expectations and priorities; this is true for every aspect of our lives, including the planning of weddings. Today, guest lists are shorter, and weddings are becoming intimate, carefully-planned micro weddings or elopements. So not just Saturday celebrations, but even weekday ones, which can be more casual, affordable, and spontaneous yet still unique and memorable. Informal seating replaced a rigid conventional one, featuring alfresco chill-out areas set up with sofas, armchairs, and tables. These are some of the latest wedding trends. As for flowers and decor, there are natural and dried flowers, wreaths, and mood lighting. Gazebos and carefully designed lighting play a leading role in adding a glamorous, romantic, and unforgettable touch to outdoor wedding receptions. The key colors are natural hues such as wood tones, beige, white, brown, or green combined with white. Everything tends to be very natural-looking! Sailing weddings are trending too. Perfect for those who love the sea, these include the wedding ceremony and honeymoon. As regards the ceremony, it can be a religious one held ashore, by docking in one of the ports of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, Maremma, or Versilia, and celebrating the ceremony in the church selected by the bride and groom, or a civil ceremony held on board the sailboat. When it comes to pledging eternal love and being “away from the maddening crowds”, no venue is as safe and romantic as a boat, and being surrounded by a select number of loved ones makes one’s wedding day even more special and exclusive. Whether they choose to sail around the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago or take a cruise along the Tuscan coast, the bride and groom, the best man and maid of honor, and close relatives will discover quiet bays, postcard-perfect views, and enchanting seafront villages, and enjoy truly unforgettable experiences.
